Responsible Gambling
For most people gambling is a fun and exciting recreational pursuit. However, for some individuals, gambling may result in addiction with devastating consequences for them, their families and their friends. At Boost, we understand the dangers of gambling beyond your means. We want to protect all of our Customers against these risks. We want you to stay in control of your gambling and not allow gambling to control you.
At Boost, we work with the organisation Gambling Help who offer assistance to anyone who is affected personally or by a loved one's compulsive gambling. They offer a range of free services such as support groups, live chat and email counselling across numerous languages. For more information, or for free and confidential advice and support, contact Gambling Help their toll free number 1800 858 858.
We also recommend Relationships Australia who provide a range of support to problem gamblers and their families. Their website can be found at: www.relationships.org.au.
Recognising that you may be developing a gambling problem is the first step to regaining control.
Remember:
- Gambling should be entertaining and not seen as a means of making money.
- Only gamble what you can afford to lose.
- Avoid chasing your losses.
- Keep track of the amount of time and funds you are dedicating to gambling.
It can be useful to track your gambling habits in order to find out if you need help. If you are experiencing difficulty controlling your gambling habits, you should visit the Gambling Help website and spend a few short minutes completing the anonymous self-assessment questionnaire in order to determine your gambling risk level. Should you be deemed a problem gambler we encourage you to seek advice.
Living with a gambling problem can be tough, but you are not alone. Confidential help and counselling is only a telephone call away at Gambling Help (Call 1800 858 858 Toll-free). At Gambling Help, you can engage with counsellors who understand that you need a safe and anonymous place to obtain information about problem gambling.
We offer a number of facilities to help you keep control of your gambling.
Monitor Your Betting Transactions
You can readily access a full history of transactions, withdrawals and deposits through the 'Transactions' tab in your 'Profile' on our website or alternatively contact your friendly Boost support staff on [email protected].
Deposit Limits
A Deposit Limit can help you control the amount you spend on gambling and ensure that the punt doesn't become a problem for you. Research shows that gambling problems are reduced when punters decide in advance how much money they are willing to spend.
At Boost, we offer a Deposit Limit facility that allows you to limit the amount you can deposit into your account on a daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Any request to reduce an existing Deposit Limit will take immediate effect. If you wish to increase an existing Deposit Limit, the change will not take effect for at least seven (7) days to allow you to reconsider your change request.
Self-Exclusion (Temporary or Permanent)
Precluding yourself from accessing gambling websites, also known as 'self-exclusion', can be helpful in reducing your opportunities to gamble.
If you feel that you need a break from gambling, you can exclude yourself for our services for a specified period, or permanently. You can access the self-exclusion facility via the 'Safe Gambling' section in your 'Profile' on our website.
Once you have self-excluded, you will be blocked from logging-in to the Boost platform. You will also stop receiving communications from Boost.
Please note that excluding yourself from the Boost platform will not affect your ability to access the websites of other wagering providers. If you have decided to self-exclude from the Boost platform, we strongly encourage you to also self-exclude from any other wagering provider with whom you have an account.
BetStop
BetStop is Australia's national self-exclusion register for individuals seeking to take a break from online gambling. As part of our commitment to responsible gambling, we encourage users who feel the need to limit or control their gambling activities to consider self-exclusion through BetStop.
